These designs were created for the World Fashion Show, where each designer was entrusted with interpreting a different nation. I was given Japan—a story woven in silk, shadow, and centuries of craftsmanship. This Sayonara collection reimagines Japan's heritage through a contemporary lens. Each garment is crafted from vintage kimono fabrics, reclaimed and renewed, carrying whispers of the hands that shaped them before. Traditional motifs unfold like quiet poetry, while modern cuts, fluid tailoring, and architectural silhouettes gently draw the past into the present.
By preserving handwoven textures and time-softened colors, the collection honors the spirit of sustainable craftsmanship. These storied textiles are transformed into wearable art, bridging memory and modernity with every stitch.
